Privacy Policy for Capital Quiz
This Privacy Policy explains how Stølen Development AS handles information in the mobile application Capital Quiz.

2. Summary of how the app handles data
Capital Quiz does not require account creation or login.
Version 1.1.1, the version in the App Store when this policy was last updated, shows no ads and does not include a third-party advertising, analytics or crash reporting SDK. Later versions show ads from Google AdMob (in this policy: versions with ads). Sections 6 to 9, 11 and 16 describe what that changes.
The app processes gameplay and preference data locally on your device so that the app can function, remember progress and provide features such as statistics, achievements, coins, themes and notification preferences.

4. Local storage
Capital Quiz uses local device storage, including AsyncStorage, to save gameplay data, statistics, coins, achievements, themes, preferences and app settings. This information is stored on your device and is not sent to Stølen Development AS servers in the current version of the app.
5. Notifications
Capital Quiz may ask for permission to send notifications. Notifications are optional. If you enable notifications, the app uses your device’s notification system to schedule local reminders, such as daily quiz reminders or streak-related reminders.
In the current version reviewed for this policy, Capital Quiz does not request or send a push notification token to Stølen Development AS. The app uses device checks only to determine whether notification functionality can run on a real device.
6. Advertising
Version 1.1.1 shows no ads and does not use advertising identifiers.
Versions with ads use the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob), provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. They can show banner ads, full-screen ads, and optional ads you choose to watch for a reward, such as bonus coins or opening a game mode for the rest of the day. Ads are limited to content rated suitable for all ages. Without a network connection the game works as usual and shows no ads.
To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google’s SDK may collect information from your device, including:
- your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location;
- a device identifier, such as the advertising identifier on iPhone, but only if you allow tracking (see below);
- advertising data, such as which ads you have seen and how you interacted with them;
- other interactions with the app, such as app launches and taps;
- diagnostic information, such as crash logs and performance data.
Consent. Where the law requires it, for example in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent with Google’s consent form before ads that use your data are shown. You can change your choice at any time under Settings → Privacy choices in the app. If you do not consent, the app may still show ads that are not personalised; Google may still process limited data, such as your IP address, to deliver them and prevent fraud.
Tracking on iPhone. The app asks Apple’s tracking permission only where tracking can apply. If you allow it, Google may use your iPhone’s advertising identifier to show ads that are more relevant to you. If you decline, the identifier is not shared. You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

7. Analytics and crash reporting
Capital Quiz does not include Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, AppsFlyer, Adjust, RevenueCat, OneSignal, Amplitude, Mixpanel or similar analytics, attribution or crash reporting SDKs. In versions with ads, Google’s ads SDK may collect crash and performance data for Google’s own purposes, as described in section 6; Stølen Development AS receives only aggregated advertising reports from Google, not data about individual players.
Stølen Development AS may receive technical information if you voluntarily include it in a support request. App stores and operating system providers may also process technical information under their own privacy policies and terms.
8. Data sharing with third parties
Capital Quiz does not share your gameplay data, statistics, coins, achievements or preferences with advertising, analytics or cloud storage providers. In versions with ads, Google receives the device and usage information described in section 6 directly from the app.
If you contact support by email, your email is handled by the relevant email service providers used to send and receive that message.
9. Purpose of processing
Data is processed for the following purposes:
- to make the quiz, statistics, achievements, coins and themes work;
- to remember app preferences and selected settings;
- to provide optional local notifications;
- to respond to support requests if you contact us;
- to maintain and improve the app based on user feedback;
- in versions with ads: to show ads that keep the app free, with the consent described in section 6 where the law requires it.
10. How data is secured
Locally stored app data is stored on your device using the storage mechanisms available to the app and operating system. You are responsible for securing your own device with appropriate device-level protections such as passcodes, biometric authentication and operating system updates.
Since the current version does not provide account login or cloud sync, Stølen Development AS does not maintain a server-side account database for Capital Quiz users.
11. How long data is kept
Local app data is kept on your device until you delete it, reset app data or uninstall the app. Support emails may be retained for as long as necessary to respond to the request, handle follow-up questions and maintain reasonable business records. Information Google collects for ads in versions with ads is kept according to the Google Privacy Policy.
12. How to delete local data
You can normally delete locally stored Capital Quiz data by uninstalling the app or clearing the app’s data through your device settings, where available. Deleting the app may remove quiz progress, statistics, coins, achievements, themes and settings from the device.
13. Support requests
If you contact Stølen Development AS for support, we may process your email address, name, message content and any information you choose to include. This information is used to respond to your request and provide support.
14. Accounts and login
Capital Quiz does not require users to create an account and does not provide user login in the current version.
15. Children and young people
Capital Quiz is a geography quiz app intended for general educational and entertainment use. The app does not require account creation and Stølen Development AS does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. In versions with ads, ads are limited to content suitable for all ages.
If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at Help@stolendevelopment.no.
16. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal information. For local app data stored only on your device, Stølen Development AS may not be able to access, correct or delete that data remotely. You can usually remove local app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data through your device settings.
For support emails or other information you have sent directly to us, you may contact us to request access, correction or deletion.
In versions with ads, you can withdraw or change your advertising consent under Settings → Privacy choices, and change tracking in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. For the information Google processes, you can use the rights described in the Google Privacy Policy.
17. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if Capital Quiz changes, if new features are added, or if we add services such as advertising, analytics, crash reporting, accounts or cloud sync. The updated version will be published on this page.
